This D-sized battery has been manufactured by Panasonic and it is able to provide the user with 1. 5 volts of power. Each unit employs a zinc-carbon chemistry and this has eliminated the use of potentially harmful substances such as mercury and lead. The lack of these chemicals offers a much more environmentally friendly nature when compared to a traditional alkaline configuration.
