What is an Oxford Pillowcase?

 

Oxford Pillowcases have the same internal dimensions as Housewife Pillowcases (usually 50 x 75cm for Standard Irish/UK Pillowcases). Oxford pillowcases however have a decorative border around the edge which is usually about 5 to 10 cm wide.

 

 

 

 

What is a Housewife Pillowcase?

 

Housewife Pillowcases are simpler, they have no decorative border i.e. they fit tight to the pillow

 

 

So, that's it pretty much! The choice between Oxford and Housewife Pillowcases generally just comes down to style preference. Standard size pillowcases in both should be the same size (i.e. 50 x75cm in Ireland). Oxford Pillowcases are typically slightly more expensive as they have more material.
